I'm a former reggae soundsystem owner/operator. I deejay (15 years), collect records (forever) and sometime build stuff... I love Jamaican music, blues, jazz, soul... well most music actually....

I have just finished a new speaker build, based on an updated version of a Tannoy GRF.

I'll post some photos, when I learn how to.

2x 1200's with Ortofon 'dj' carts
Allen & Heath mixer
Jo Red pre-amp (pictured)
Yarland valve amp,
Audiolab amp.
Roger Ls7t speakers
a restored Garrard 4HF

I love old style boxes and hi-fi that's a little wild, something that's a cross between a pa and a home hifi. it suits my old 60's Jamaican 45's...

I'll post a bit more regarding my new speaker project in the diy section.

I'm from Wellington, the home of Fat Freddy's. I did some gigs with them in the early days. I had worked with Mu when he was involved with the Roots Foundation soundsystem (pre Freddy's). He went into Freddy's, and I went deeper into soundsystem culture. Their first 12's and 10's were great.
