Greetings to all of the AoS participants/members. This is my first post and I'm anxious to interact with this group and acquire additional knowledge about milking my system to its' full potential. As info, I'm currently looking to replace my SUT (Ikeda 100-SD) with something a bit more transparent. My primary listening is vinyl and my system is comprised of the following:
Amps - Air Tight ATM2's mono'ed
Preamp - Air Tight ATC-2
Phonostage - Air Tight ATE-2
SUT - Ikeda 100-SD
Turntable - SOTA Star Sapphire
Arm - Graham 1.5T
Cartridges - Koetsu - Onyx Diamond Platinum, Rosewood Signature
Speakers - Chario Academy III's
Cables - primarily Acrotec 8n's, but have just made up some of my own 28 gauge silver that are proving to be very special.
As you can see from the above, I'm a big fan of my Air Tight equipment and am considering their ATH-2 Reference SUT. Does anyone on this forum have any first-hand experience with it? If so, I'd appreciate some feedback.
Regards,
Kyle

Hi Kyle and welcome to AoS from me too.
Wow, that's quite a system you have there!
I'm sure we's all love to see some pictures of it in the AoS gallery when you have time to indulge us.
Cheers
The Grand Wazoo suggested that I post some pictures; so here you go....
Nice system Kyle and what looks like a very comfortable listening position.
the only thing that's on a par with my system is my chair! I'm sure it's nothing more than what others have in their listening room, but sitting down in my "butter chair" is part of the magic!

Lovely looking system.
One question though - is the Accuphase CD player a guilty secret, now outed by the images? Or did you just forget to put it in your list?
Yes, I forgot to list my Accuphase. A great piece; however, it's been playing second fiddle to my analog front end for quite some time.

Which model is it Kyle?
Hi Kyle - lovely system and I was about to mention the Accuphase but Chris got there first. Welcome!
The Accuphase is a DP65; older model but still very nice.

I don't think they've made a bad one yet, have they?
Hi Kyle and welcome to AOS; that's a lovely system you have there - glad to see another Chario owner on-board.
Enjoy your stay!
Cheers

Awesome! Another Chario owner! I fell in love with the Academy Ones 20 years ago. These were small monitors and couldn't do the bottom end very well; but everything else that they did was lovely. I've been through more speakers than I'd like to admit; but once I purchased the Academy 3's, my search ended and I've been happy with them now for about 15 years. Breathtakingly beautiful, amazing sound, great imaging, full range, and with the heft of a small piano. I'll take a look at Chario's website when I get a chance and see their recent range of products.

Hi Kyle,
Your speakers, once the flagship of the company, would fall somewhere in between the current Sovran and the Serendipity. I couldn't agree with you more on the virtues of Chario speakers - shame really that they don't get the recognition they deserve. That being said, I might be changing mine for something smaller as my Ursa Major are frankly too big for my listening room..I'll be trying out their Sonnet stand mount and see how it fares against some really tough competition.
Cheers
