Some of you may remember my non working amp

Today I decided to try and fix it :scratch:

The problem was blowing fuses on power up

Tonight I un soldered the 12 pins from the main board connecting the output transistors , slightly bent the pins away , Fitted 2 new fuses powered it up and no more blown fuses

I now need too locate two pairs of these

Fortunately not a lot of money Al.
Before you put them in just check it is the transistors that are at fault.
Wouldn't want the new ones to blow up :eek:

Run your multimeter on ohms over the old ones, if you find some very low readings then they are definitely shot.

As predicted :D

I would strongly advise also checking Q13,Q14,Q15 & Q16. They are the driver transistors, if they are short circuit your new transistors will instantly die on power up. If you're not sure how to test transistors this (http://www.stickycarpet.com/pinx/test.html) explains better than I could.

Good luck & don't forget to renew the thermal compound when fitting replacement outputs.
