Hi, I have been a long time lurker here and have gained much useful advice and help, so thanks to all for that.

However, I have also picked up one slight problem. I placed an order with Scott Nangle for quite a few records, mainly based on the glowing reviews that I had heard about the man and his business here and on other forums.

The problem is it looks as though I have been ripped off, and other negative feedback on Discogs etc seem to paint a picture of a reliable business that has suddenly gone bad.

Anyway, long story short. I couldn't pay by card so am having to pursue this through the small claims court. I think I have a pretty strong case, but I'd be very grateful to hear from anyone here who has had problems in the past couple of months.

I don't know if you are aware, but there is a thread on the Linn forum relating to similar issues:

I'm afraid things don't look good.

Hi David, sorry to hear that, I've bought a lot of stuff from Scott and always had great service. If you can PM me some details I could get in touch with him for you?

Hi David,

Welcome to AoS :)

Sorry to hear about your problems with Scott Nangle Audio. In order to try and rectify this situation ASAP, I'll upgrade your account straight away to enable you to send Scott a private message.

Scott was logged into the forum earlier today, so he should see your PM pretty quickly. When you send him a message, mention that I've asked you to contact him. Please update the thread when you've made contact and let us know how you get on.

Marco.

Thanks for the swift replies.

I don't think that making contact with Scott will help now unfortunately. I have been speaking to him on the phone as recently as last week, but as nice as he is, there is no progress.

The last time he contacted me, he gave me a tracking number for part of my order. When I contacted the courier to find out where it was, they informed me that the collection had been booked, but when they got there to collect it they were turned away. They have not been contacted about a new collection date.

That was just the last in quite a long line of broken promises I have had unfortunately.

Apart from having to fight to get my money back, I am disappointed because I thought I had found a new favourite vinyl supplier before all this happened. :(

Hi David,

I've sent Scott a PM asking him to deal with this situation as a matter of urgency. I'll be monitoring the situation now, but keep us posted when he gets in touch.

Marco.

Oh dear. The complaints all appear to be from members whose only posts are complaints. It is not possible to at this stage to rule out that this is only one person.

Thanks Marco & Scott.

Scott has been in touch with me to explain that the original courier appointment was missed and has confirmed that he has now sent the package so I should receive next week.

The only issues I have had with Scott Nangle Audio was the payment system which didn't work so a BACS transfer had to be done and when the vinyl arrived, one was as ordered and one was not. I have still not received the item I actually ordered but then, I am not really all that bothered. Rapid service and excellent quality items.

Thanks Scott. It would actually be the post room guys at work who would have signed for it as I was out at a meeting. I'll pick it up tomorrow.

Now that messy business all seems to be resolved (which is great, by the way) we hope you'll be hanging around for a bit on AoS, David.
Why don't you do a 'normal' Welcome post and we can all get to know each other a bit better.
We like to hear what equipment people use and the type of music that they enjoy.

Cheers

I certainly will be hanging around. I have actually been browsing the forums for sometime anyway and always find it useful and informative.
