I have been setting up a really cheap system in my study (here (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?30801-Very-cheap-system-just-for-fun)) and have included a cheap, silver JVC tuner. This has set me off and I now want one in the lounge, but it has to be black, I am told

So, looking for a retro influenced black, fairly low profile tuner. If it has a tuning knob and some illuminated bits like a signal or centre tuning light, so much the better. Sansui do some nice ones but I haven't quite come across the right one yet. Any one got something I could consider?

I have one of these below which are fantastic and rock soldid re tuning and the guy selling refurbs them and the amps, complete bargains.

I've no idea if the tuner is still for sale but you could always drop him a note as he sells them regularly.

Ahhh, the T21. I had one for many, many years and eventually gave it to my brother in law when I wanted to try a DAB item with remote for laziness. You are right twotone, they are very good with that unusual tuning scale. I suspect I would want to try something different now, if only for the novelty value. Yes, that Pioneer does look rather good...

Yes, that's nice too. Of all the Arcam tuners I have seen (in pictures) I think the Delta 80 is the one with that bit of bling I quite fancy.

I am thinking Arcam Delta 80 or perhaps Sansui TU 5S as examples that are easy on the eye, IMO. I have no doubt the two offered so far work well, and I thank people for the suggestions. I just have a wish for a certain look. If I can get it, of course...

Well, against the odds I found a Sansui TU-S5 locally working a treat. Thanks for the offers, though I may be back again for more ideas as the panel bulb only lasted a day :steam: and I can't stand things that don't work properly. But that's a story for the DIY threads...
