A 'VERY' good cd transport... sleek, nice looking and quite cheap

Hi all.

Just thought I'd let you know about this little gem of a transport.

Sony S4100

It's a great transport. Sound is stable with depth and the image is solid. The unit is quiet with cd (redbook) although it can be a little noisy with DVD or Blueray playback.

Looks sleek, a little limited on front controls but still usable.

It seems it even supports SACD. Coax output (but no Toslink). 70 quid from Richer Sounds....not bad. I'm not sure but it may be the one John uses.

Ive used a sony bdp s780 bluray for the last few years and very happy with it.

If I remember right it was £200 even does 3d blu-ray and can plug in a external hd to play films or music and access my nas over wifi and has iplayer ect.

I run mine coax into my M-dac and its a decent enough CD transport but its no match for my Cyrus CDXTSE transport with psxr so a real made for the job transport does give better sound at a higher cost I know but they do sound better but for what the Sony Blu-rays do for little money makes them very good vfm.mine also has optical along with coax.
