As some may know i recently started electric guitar lessons

Well my teacher started me off on 'jamming' in my last lesson with him; him giving me the backing and i kinda played along, all sort of 'ad-hoc' like, what great fun that is, i'm hooked

I can now play along to backing tracks on You Tube, well as long as it's in key of A Minor. It's the best fun ever, I never thought I'd be doing anything like that by now

I'm guessing every other guitar player on here has done this all before but it was quite an eye opener for me, love it!!

Just make sure you don't judge yourself!

Keep playing even if you're brain is cringing or you're not hitting the notes in your head.. eventually your neural pathways will re-allign and music will flow out of you without a thought.

Ok, that's what I believe will happen - I've only experienced about 5 seconds of thinking "this sounds good!" before then it all collapsing again.

Playing along to jam tracks can help with your phrasing
Best advice I can give is sing/hum everything you play
