Hi, I'm JB or 'HouseAd' per my username. Musically, I'm very eclectic - jazz, 'Classic' Rock (60s, 70s, 80s), harder rock (QotSA, Volbeat, Danzig, etc) and more.
I picked up a Technics SL-12010M3D about 6 years ago on fleabay for a steal, and all I've done since then has been to swap out the included Stanton 500-II with a Denon DL-110 and a recently purchased Funk Firm Achromat.
Current setup (including the above): Pro-Ject Phono Box II - I know it needs upgrading :), Yaqin MC-100B dual monoblock valve amp, and a 15 year old pair of Infinity SS 2003's perched atop weighted Atacama Duo 6 stands.
I've already spent many hours pouring over the various amazingly detailed threads on mods for the SL-1200s and I'm really looking forward to souping up my Techie!
Projects in planning: MN/Timestep bearing, stock arm rewire, external PSU + strobe disable and possibly a wooden plinth. I am tempted by either a Funk Firm platter or MN ETP, and have considered upgrading the tonearm, but I need to complete and evaluate the improvements from the other projects first.
