IS ANYONE NEAR TO GOSPORT?

I want to bid for an item on ebay but the bloomin' seller has insisted on collection only - typical. Have asked if they can put it in a box and will get a courier to collect so they won't have to lug it to a post office, but no reply as yet so just asking around in case someone lives nearby that can help.

I would understand if it was a full size replica of the Eiffel Tower, but this is an Akai tuner which must weigh all of 8 kilos and doesn't need 4 miles of packing materials to send safely by courier. Similar model to this in fact:

I wouldn't normally ask this kind of question but it's something I have been lusting after for years and years since the 70s, which I hinted at it this thread :eyebrows:

I'm in Portsmouth which isn't too far from Gosport

I'd be prepared to pick it up for you, for the diesel cost, and I could hold onto it until you could pick it up

There is over 3 days to go on the auction and hoping the seller will relent over the collection issue and allow a courier collection.

Good news! The seller has agreed to a courier collection, so I have slapped a bid on it :yay:

I am amazed though that so many listings state "collection in person only" yet when you ask very nicely the majority agree to a courier pickup :eyebrows:

It's on it's way :)

Seller couldn't have been more helpful in getting it packed and labelled up.

Just shows that if the item isn't to heavy or bulky then the "collection only" vendors are willing to let a courier pick up the item if you ask nicely :eyebrows:
