Having spent an unpleasant time as a member of the Wam, I've decided that I should abandon the uphill struggle and seek a more relaxed forum environment for my audio journey.

I've spent some 50 years developing my system which has got better at roughly the same rate as my hearing has got worse. A while longer and the system will be perfect whilst I will be stone deaf!

System is really all about resolution with big Halcro amps driving YG Anat speakers. Front end is DCS Scarlatti ( shortly to be replaced by Vivaldi) and music is provided by Aurender s10, Squeezebox Transporter and modified Sonos.

I've spent some time and effort in improving system clocking with a custom rubidium clock which does seem very worthwhile.

Looking forward to being part of this group. I hope I can add value.

The only problem right now is that I succeeded in straining my back whilst moving one of my Halcro amps. Stupid thing to do, as my wife and my chiropractor have both told me. Still it gives me an excuse to sit and listen to my system!

Aye aye capn and welcome aboard !.Interesting name there, does that mean every time you write something that makes it a custodian sentence ( sorry). How do you find the Harmonic products, been reading great things about there resonant qualities.

The Harmonic Resolution stand is great. I had all Finite Elemente stands and supports and I thought the system was excellent. The design and construction of the Finite stuff is really beautiful however the HR stuff is to a totally different level. The system now is much more involving. The HR supports seem to have. Removed some noise from the system and everything is much cleaner. I know that sounds a bit like an over enthusiastic magazine review but I don't know how else to explain it.

Downsides are major however. Number one is cost. Perhaps three times as expensive as Finite. Number two is weight. Once set up, not a problem, but watch your spine whilst setting up and moving the granite platforms.

I've used their damping plates which do help the sound however I've also made some of my own damping plates from 3/4" aluminum with 3mm sorbothane sheet on top and bottom. Cost per plate around £30 compared to £200 from HR!

Philosophy of support system almost opposite to direct ball bearing coupling of Finite Elemente. hR uses granite plinth floating on polymer, the platform being matched to component weight.

Excellent info there on the HR stuff David, going to try some of there " slightly" more cheaper bits on home demo from audio consultants under my turntable and A/N meishu amp. Great kit BTW

Good luck with the trial.

I'd start with Nimbus feet under the turntable. That's probably the most immediate effect.

Also the damping plates work well on my digital stuff.
