Always sad to see someone die at 66 (I think he was), a suspected heart attack.
I must admit I was not an admirer however. For Flamenco, I much prefer Paco Pena, especially with his dance troup. Every comment I have seen raves about de Lucia, particularly about his version of the Rodrigo concerto. I have just downloaded it and tried my best but as a classical guitarist, he was a good blues player. He played the notes OK but was even more deadpan than John Williams at his worst. I guess we all hear and see things differently but just being a good guitarist technically doesn't make a great musician. Maybe I missing something.
Anyway, 66 is far too young. I reach (hopefully) 67 in April and I would hope to have a few years in me yet.
