All,

I just got off the phone with Christopher Thornton at Artisan Fidelity regarding my Garrard 401. My newly upgraded Garrard 401 is very near complete. :eyebrows:
I can hardly wait to get it home, settled in and playing beautiful music again.

After some serious discussion about Artisan Fidelity's new inverted bearing and platter upgrade, now available, its application to the Garrard 401 and the sonic improvements the upgrade provides, I sent the table in a few weeks ago. What I am hoping to realize as a result of the platter and inverted bearing upgrade is a further enhancement of the excellent drive and dynamics that my 401 already possessed and hopefully gain even more clarity, extension and sense of stability, while still maintaining the idler drive traits that I love.

I've asked Christopher to send over some pics to hold me over 'til I'm able to arrange pick-up of the table.

Thanks,

Tim

I did post this update in the Gallery as well and I'm hoping it's okay to put it here as well as I thought some of you may be interested.

Beautiful, I am just about to restore a 401, but I'm not going to try and follow this. Spooky too . . . my names also Tim!
