First Jumble sale bargains of the 2014

Local scout jumble on saturday brought me a nice Technics amp and a pair of speakers, some great albums and a mint Arcam Alpha CDP, the original one and I may well keep it in the system, at least for a while. I find it very dynamic and detailed and after a lens clean and a general sort out (everything measures as it should), I think it was well worth the tenner :) :) :)

Great finds! I used to go to the Chiswick car boot a fair few times (wonder when it starts again) but always found nothing but low end all-in-ones. People seem to know the value of stuff at car boots with regular traders.

Chiswick boot sale starts Feb every year, only misses Jan. Best results I've ever had audio wise from there are a Leak Stereo 30 for 15 quid and a Rogers Ravensbrook for 25. I did get a 600mm Karl Zeiss Jena Telephoto lens for 60 squids once, used it on two jobs then sold the story of the find and using it to the British Journal of Photography for double what it cost :) Then sold the lens for £200...... Happy days
