Just played the U2 album The unforgettable fire

Thought I had a problem with the TT speed , No :scratch:

Sounded like it was running slow, swapped to another TT and the same :scratch:

Weird or what , why does the vocal performance sound like its on the wrong speed ? :scratch:

Its a 45rpm record I had it on 33.3 :doh:

Funny how you only noticed the lack of speed with the vocals....

But then it is U2. I would imagine some of their albums could actually be improved by playing them at the wrong speed, you certainly couldn't make them any worse.

I can remember receiving my copy of The World As It Is Today by The Art Bears in the 80s, playing the album for the first time and thinking, "that's interesting, the way they've slowed the voices down" and then realising it was a Nimbus Super Analogue pressing and meant to be played at 45 not 33 :)
