Looking to pay £200 max. Will also consider an integrated or a pre amp with good phono stage and record out.

Steve,

New, you could get a basic Graham Slee or Edwards Audio but at that price point you will almost certainly get better by going used. Or save yourself a lot of money and get a Rega Fono :) - it is remarkably good - and buy some extra vinyl instead.

I'm doing a bit of snuffling for an extra phono stage, so I don't have a spare but FWIW, there are some interesting ones on a certain well-known auction site:

I've heard the first two and both are worth every penny of 200 smackers, unless you can find a Dynavector P75 for your budget which is a great phono stage.

More interestingly there is a Nytech preamp (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/fair_trade_auctions/m.html?item=281264398094&pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers&hash=item417caa1f0e&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562)

Happy hunting

Peter

Thanks. I have an angle audio at the moment and I am not that enamoured with it, hence my looking around.Appreciate the input.

Yup but for that money I think you'll be hard pressed to improve on it. Do see if you can find a Dynavector (not convinced there is much difference between the series I and III); it is excellent. I used mine with the DV HOMCs and it really does sing. Also well matched to my Ortofon Blue MM.
