Wonder if any of the photographers here can give me some advice. Recently had a little windfall of 150 quids worth of amazon vouchers and thinking I could get a new digital to replace our old and well travelled Olympus which broke last year.

Ideally nice and compact to fit in a jacket pocket. We'll mostly be taking holiday snaps from our cruises, so equal landscapes and city type shots. I'd like a decent optical zoom, must be fairly rugged too as my wife has to visit India with work so anything which can take a bump or two is also good.

Got my eye on a Sony cybershot but may consider a bridge camera if its not too bulky.

So what would yous recommend?

Cheers

I would look for a NOS Canon Digital IXUS 60, fantastic little point and shoot just before the megapixels war kicked in. Although it's 6mp this is a *GOOD* thing with compact sensors. Please read:

have a look at that one:

takes AA Batteries, is cheap, has optical viewfinder, does nice pics, bought it for my daughter, took pics myself, would buy it again …
