getting things in perspective

i have been interested in hi-fi for over 30 years and to that end , i have been gradually building my system up to its present state(see my profile). i have always thought of my hi-fi as quite an important thing in my life for a number of years , that is until a few months ago when i learned (to my horror) that i needed a double by-pass heart operation . all of a sudden ,things took on a different perspective , and my health (and the impending major heart operation)took over most of my waking thoughts .
i am now on the road to recovery (i hope) , and having got all that worry behind me, i am able to concentrate on my system again ,so i am wondering if anybody can recommend Mark Grant speaker cables ?

Life has a habit of bringing one down to earth with a bump, and forcing a reappraisal of one's priorities.

Now looking at your forum profile I see QED cable mentioned, and is it your speaker cable?
Some members here have used QED silver speaker cables in the past, and didn't know it was strangling the sound of their system until they used something else.
The MG stuff might well make a significant improvement if you're using the same cable - I've heard a system being strangled by QED silver cable too.

The Mark Grant cables for the system or your heart? seriously though I put a couple of MG power cables in my system and kept them in, not tried his speaker cables yet though HTH.

Hi Alf, All the very best with recovery - full and speedy. Don't have personal experience of the MG cables but have read good things. With regards to the QED of which I have experience - Basically Silver Anniversary certainly not the last word in 'natural' and neutrality. The Silver Spiral on the other hand is regarded and a different kettle of fish in comparison or otherwise.

I'll join you in a pint there, seems a damn fine idea and I bet they are going down well.

We've probably got the wrong end of the stick but I am another to condemn silver anni cable. I would say that any decent copper cable would be a vast improvement.

I use the Van Damme blue 6mm speaker cables in my system, and couldn't be happier. They replaced Cardas Quadralink-5C cables in my system as I needed a long run when I moved my rack, and I can't say I miss them at all.

Needless to say, the Van Damme cables cost approximately 10% of the Cardas cables!
