Another Scot

Hello

I am a retired university scientist who lives in Cumbernauld, between Glasgow and Stirling, in Central Scotland.
I have a wife, with a taste for punk music, and a young son, who likes that of the 1940s.
My older sons have caught my interest in audio to varying degrees.
My tastes are catholic in music - from early music, through folk, blues and jazz, to contemporary classic composers and pop.

After some reflection I have discovered I collect audio products designed by various individuals who have ideas: John Westlake (JW) Arthur Khoubesserian (AK),
Graham Ingle (Blackcat Electronics: GI), Lee Taylor and Mallory Nicholls (Leema Acoustics) and Tom Willis (Art Audio). I also get advice from vinyl authority John Neilson (Audio Origami)

So my components are:

Front Ends
Pink Triangle PT Too (Alphason Xenon arm), Tarantella (Rega RB300) and Funk Firm Little Superdeck - all AK. Cartridge suggestions'..
Pink Triangle da Capo DAC, Cardinal and Cardinal 2; Audiolab M-DAC - all JW.
ARCAM Delta 100S cassette deck and DVD player.

Amplification
Blackcat 300B and preamp - GI
Art Audio push-pull Quintet.
Beard P35 power.
Tisbury Audio passive preamp.
Musical Fidelity V-LPS phono amp with Little Pinkie power supply.
ARCAM A75 integrated amp.

Speakers

LEEMA Xen, Xyp and Xones; X-10der subwoofer
Gale 2iSE (Pink Triangle)

Cables
Ecosse (Speaker), interconnects: van den Hul and Wyreworld also Chimera Labs (GI)

Sounds pretentious but why not.... Always some is off for repair:(

Martin, I was born in Dunfermline. Seems to be nothing but Fifers on here. I was up last week visiting my Mum in Largo. Love it there.

Good to make contact. I am struggling to choose a vinyl cartridge, any advice? My friend at Audio Origami is suggesting a Dynavector which is a bit Japanese for me and at risk from the cat.... I thought about s/h Zu DL-103 or getting a better one rebuilt. I have a badly rebuilt (I am told) v d H.

Glad to have someone who is interested in such matters, my wife is a technophobe.

Hi Alistair, I must confess I'm not a Scot but I am a massive fan of record players designed by Mr Arthur Khoubesserian
and that's a very nice collection you have there , I have always loved VDH cart's on my PT
you could trade in your badly rebuilt one?
the Frog is very nice , Johnnie Knows what he's talking about though so I would not totally dismiss a DV
