I know, shock horror

I've tried them, enjoyed them & now its time for someone else to do so... A box swapper cannot stop just because he finds something he likes  Genuine reason for sale, I'm building an SET amp & it simply won't have the balls to drive them.

They are studio monitor speakers from the mid to late 90's with cosmetics that make them "home friendly" these are ex studio so do have some marks but nothing to spoil the overall look. They sound flippin' gorgeous, probably the best I've owned. AFAIK original retail price was around £2000 to give you some idea... Supposedly a modern take on the 4410 with a larger bass driver.

Some specs for you:

Frequency Range: 40Hz-30KHz [+/-2dB]
Sensitivity: 90dB / 1m / 2.83v
Impedance: 4 ohms nominal
Crossover Frequencies: 400Hz / 2.5KHz
Recommended Amplifier: 50-300W / ch
Dimensions: 400 x 600 x 340mm [HxWxD]
Weight: 27kg [each]

They are currently located in Cornwall but I'm happy to ship them in separate cartons at cost.... Alternatively, I will be in Hampshire next month so could bring them with me. I'm looking for £300 for them - I can guarantee as long as your amp is up to the job you won't get better sound for that price.

They are awesome :) I appear to have priced them a little low... I've been literally overwhelmed with PM's on other fora [none on here!]

There's a long list of people that want them so pretty much sold.

They have only been on here 5 minutes, blimey, shame as I would have these if they were still available.
Can pick up and pay cash if it helps?

Let me know if they somehow are available after all.

Pete.

Can't believe you are selling these James. The first thing you should play through your next speakers is Patsy Cline singing ' Crazy'. ;)

Will do Pete although the chance seems pretty remote to be honest.

Martin I know I'll regret it... Hell, I already do ! I want to explore SET amps & high efficiency speakers & can't afford to hold on to these while doing so.

You gotta do what you gotta do.

Don't you have a child you can sell instead? Or something...

Would a donated tub of Polyfilla and a length of skirting board persuade you to keep them?

Ok, thanks James.
Thought it was worth mentioning just in case.:)

No 'cos I'm moving on the 1st March... So it won't be my problem for much longer :ner: [not that I ever accepted it as my problem... evidently ]

Lol . I saw this ad as soon as it went up and tried very hard to resist temptation cause I figured they would sell in hours and there would be queue. Like I said on another thread 'what happened to all the fun lodspeakers?'. People obviously want them so wake up manufacturers and designers!

:exactly:

Theres no excuse ! Do they require complex cabinets made from exotic materials ? No, just 6 chipboard panels. Do they require highly sophisticated computer modelled drivers made from exotic materials ? No, paper drivers are where its at. Do they require complex crossover's using audiophile parts ? No, the crossovers inside the JBL's are very minimal & use cooking grade parts yet the result is sublime.
