Hello,

I'm François from France. I have been reading this forum as an outsider for a few years and never took the time to register. In the meantime I developed http://calamightysound.blogspot.com/ as an answer to friends requests that wished that I could help them distribute there products.

As most of you I am obsessed with music and sound. This "perversion" lead me to focus my life around it. I am above all a linguist focusing mainly on history of linguistic theories and with for main subject the relation linking recording of the speech and the development of linguistic theories around it. Sounds crazy isn't it?

I must admit I'm an analogical kind of freak and I do like to play records either shellac, mono or brand new modern vynils... Turntables? A few let's say as a start: Lenco, Technics SP-10 mkII *2, Denon DD and Belin/Bourdereau/Clément's stuff for mono. I like old speakers and high efficiency set-ups with flea amps but for instance I am now listening to Proac Tablettes with a Luxman MQ3600, etc, etc.

Music? As long as it is good I am willing to listen to it. I have very eclectic tastes that I sometime share here : http://calamean.tumblr.com/ and of course concerts. Lots of concerts !

Proac tablette are indeed surprising little speakers. I also like fully refurbished JM -Lab DB13 with optimized filters.These speakers were built in the early eighties and used a double coil woofer which is really good. I know : it is a French answer to the LS3/5A so it cannot be good but : it has better bass and sounds more open in the mids. Treble is not as refined as on the LS3/5A but it is still really good. To my tastes the JM Lab 13 is a fun kind of loudspeaker.

But well I must admit : it is nearly impossible to live only with low efficiency speakers. I am addicted to high efficiency...

I'm glad you like it. I have started reading your thread about it. My two cents? The headshell wires provided with the headshell are really not so bad try them first before moving to something else.
