Mint Rega RP6 For Sale

Hi all,

I am selling my Rega RP6 turntable (factory fitted with Rega Exact cartridge).

This turntable came direct from Rega just over one year ago. It has been little used and spent most of that year boxed up under my bed!

I imagine the Exact cartridge has something like 80 to 100 hours use on it in total (very approximate calculation). Otherwise the turntable is "as new", mint, etc.

I always get asked about the reason for sale. Basically, I also have a cheaper Pro-Ject deck that serves my modest needs adequately and am looking to recoup some funds.

I'm looking for £600 and the buyer to collect from Reading (not far off M4 Jn 10). That way, the buyer can check he is totally happy with the described condition, etc. £600 is not much more than the price of a new RP3 and the RP6 is a much nicer turntable :)

I provide lots of detailed photos below which I hope highlight the perfect condition.

Hi Chaps,

Just resurrecting this thread as this deck is now for sale again. It is in exactly the same condition as described in the original advertisement above. The only changes are I have replaced the Rega Exact cartridge with an Ortofon 2M Blue and there is the choice of a red or black mat.

The reason for the resurrected sale is I have now upgraded to an RP8 :)

Given the 2M Blue is pretty new with only maybe 20 hours of use on it (very difficult to estimate) the price is £650 with the 2M Blue fitted or £550 without the cartridge. The deck is still in mint condition as far as I'm concerned but given the sale remains collection only the buyer can satisfy themselves with regard to the description. The price of a new RP6 without cartridge is now c. £900 so that seems a fair deal to me.

Please note at this stage I'm not prepared to post - too busy and although I have done it before I hate mailing turntables!

Of course, the RP8 is a better turntable but it should be at its retail price! It may just be the best turntable I have heard :) The RP6 is no slouch though, a remarkable product at the price in fact IMHO.

Absolutely! One thing I have kept a bit quiet about is I have built up a nice little collection of SL1200 and SL1210 MKIIs. They are all in mint condition and stock - no upgrades. They are energetic performers, built like brick outhouses and such fun to use!

However, the RP8 is one assured performer and frankly I have never heard better. Total stability, plays a record all the way through with no inner groove fuss, a wonderfully assured sound. On the dedicated Rega wall shelf it looks a treat too. All with a 2M Blue aswell.

Under normal circumstances, I would consider posting it but just don't have time at the moment to wait in for couriers and the hassle.

Yep, I realise collection only is limiting my sales opportunities somewhat. The problem I have with posting is mainly having to wait in for a courier - they can never give specific times so one has to wait around all day. I don't trust ParcelForce particularly.

I have all the packing materials and original box so should be able to pack securely.

Let me have a think about it. How much of a rush are you in and would you want with or without 2M Blue?

I am in no rush at all, as I am away on holiday in 4 weeks, so take your time. It would want it with the 2M blue please.

ParcelForce are terrible so no way use them. I've used CityLink a few times with no issues, however it's always a little gamble with these people at times.

As way of a suggestion chaps, if you need specific collection slots, I've used http://www.ipostparcels.com as they have 0800 to 1300 and 1300 to 1800 collection slots, albeit, it does add an extra £2 to the costs...
