Nottingham Analogue Spacedeck with Space carbon fibre arm.

In very good condition, currently with a Decca Gold, serviced by John Wright.

Thinking around £1000.00

I'll be accused of shilling this manufacturer, but this is one heck of a good turntable. Not bothered by what it's put on and a lively but very involving sound that plays to vinyl's strengths. Out tune-dems an LP12 with consummate ease as well I found.

Hope you're not selling it because you think it's cr@p

Absolutely not.

I love it, the wife doesn't and to be fair I don't use it much due to young children!

She's promised me when they are older and we have a house with a dedicated listening room then?

Bummer.

I would be more than happy for it not to sell and be safely stored away.

Buy one of the Acutex M312's on ebay at the moment. Great cart IMHO.

Hi,

Couldn't find an Acutex M312?

You have to search worldwide. Don't let the low price put you off.

Just purchased on your recommendation to try out with my Spacedeck, now cartridge number 3.

I would be interested in your opinion on the Cart.

I will create a new thread for it when it arrives, ebay ad. Says 2 weeks for delivery. I should be able to do a reasonable comparison with your set-up, I run my NAS Spacedeck with a mentor arm and London Decca Maroon cart both purchased from AOS, sadly my budget won't stretch to a Decca Gold right now.

Looking forward to trying out the Acutex, it gets a lot of coverage elsewhere on the web. Are you keeping your Spacedeck?

A cheap suggestion for now, deckwise, is possibly one of the Pro-jects (although the popular Debut one comes with a 2M Red) or an RP1/Carbon. The tonearm on the latter gives very little away to the better models and will take almost anything, the lightweight plinth is fine of properly sited, it looks good and I feel certain the drive would benefit from one of their better belts and possibly an outboard power supply such as the Wave mechanic which will enhance the Spacedeck too.

That cartridge looks interesting and I'll investigate one myself. In my opinion, Deccas need a really fancy ultra low mass tip fitted, together with a careful rebuild to really perform (I prefer the Deccapod as well). This seems to take the 'twang' away and (low) surface noise and tracking is impeccable I think.
