Hello from Keith (self confessed Lenco addict)

Hello,

Yes you've probably guessed it already …. it’s Keith here from Nottingham!

Have been interested in Hi Fi for about 18 months ago when a friend showed me how much better a vinyl system sounded compared against a CD. Since then I’ve been busily renovation Lenco’s and have to admit I get as much enjoyment from building plinths / problem solving and learning new things, as I do to listening to music.

Been an very active member at Lenco Heaven for the last 18 months
(plug – I think it is a great and helpful community).

Things have seriously gotten addictive since last years Wig Wam show when I heard what good (and not necessarily expensive) systems and valve’s are really capable of! Been on and am still on a quest ever since.

Current system:
Lenco GL75 / Heavy Mass plinth / AT1005 Mk2 and a Midas Dl-103
Exposure XXVRC Integrated Amp (because I love remote control !)
Audio Innovations P1 phono clone with separate power supply & DIY SUT (built by a friend)
Heybrook Sextets (they were great) have just been replaced with
Cambridge Audio R50 transmission line speakers (old and unmolested and are even better).

This to me this system already sounds just brilliant :)

Plan for this year:
Finish a Lenco PTP / Superbearing / Audio Technica ATP-12t
Renovate the R50’s (my first speaker project).
Enjoy this years Wig Wam show and audition lots :)

Maybe upgrade the integrated to a pre / power / valve based something towards the end of the year?......
and obviously planning on keeping a close eye on the AOS classifieds this year!!!

By all means pm me of you want any impartial and free advice about anything Lenco.

Many thanks for the warm welcome everyone, and surprised / pleased to see some fellow Lenco enthusiasts here :)

Keith's:
- seen the plinth in your avatar and think I need to redefine what I think a heavy mass plinth is :lol:

Martyn:
- hope your answer ref buying a GL72 has been answered

- from what I've heard (not experienced) go for a 75 / 78 instead of a 72.
- (think the 88 and 99 go for a lot more)
- 78 is worth having only if you want to use the auto on/off function. It is however more complicated and a lot more fiddly to make a heavy mass oplinth for (learn't that from experience).

Suggest go for a 75 and if won't go far wrong (except for them becoming addictive) :)
