Dear All,
been lurking on here for sometime, thought that I would finally briefly introduce myself.

I have been into hifi since a young age and my small system has been moved over most of Europe during the last 20yrs. I set down roots in Finland 9 yrs ago. Since then I have been slowly building my vinyl system back up again.

My music tastes are best described as eclectic: D&B -> Classical -> Prog -> Cage.
I mostly listen to vinyl, with the occasional cd at home and .mp3 in the car.

Fortunately I have an understanding wife, that allows me to have audio gear pretty much everywhere. I am hoping to soon get my addiction under control and finally do something with the 17 or so turntables that we have.

Thanks for reading
David

I think you need to go retail.
Can't wait to see the pics.
Which do you think is your favourite turntable - if you can make your mind up?
Any idea of the total component count? 17 phono stages? ....

Are you related to Audio Al by any chance?

Thanks for all your kind words.

To be honest I only have three hooked up atm, although the system is in a constant flux.
The current 3 are:
Pioneer PL12D (for listening to fleamarket finds)
Rega Plannar 3, Michell Technoarm, Ortofon Kontrapunkt
Garrard 301 Grease, Ortofon RF-309, SPU-AE (my favourite one)

Only two phono stages hooked up atm.

Photos to follow soon, there are some already on other forums, but will gather them on this post for you.
I will be selling a lot of the others soon.

A Russian imported, polish made interesting belt drive. Crazy motor speed control variable pitch, has a light sensor on the main board and no ICs.
Unitra G-602... (unfortunately these are not my pictures, camera not in use at time of this post).

A luxor, only purchased for the shorter than standard l70 arm and headshell. Really strange idler drive, has a flywheel underneath sub platter coated with rubber that is driven by motor.

I will take more photos

Well a lot has changed since the last update of some 12 year to this post, apart from the lack of dusting before taking pictures :police:.

Currently listening system is only digital  into LEAK TL 12 Plus, third version in metallic-grey colour, a tube preamp that I bought many moons ago (can't remember where from (real old age memory loss kicking in), some Altec 604-8gs in original 612c cabs with Werner Jagusch crossovers.

Close, I previously ran my own company under the boring umbrella, the idea was originally from John Cage and his quote about boredom suggests extending the experience: "If something is boring after two minutes, try it for four. If still boring, then eight. Then sixteen. Then thirty-two. Eventually one discovers that it is not boring at all".

Visited Helsinki a few years back.

Took a ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki…..wow, what a great visual entrance to a country.

Lovely place it is, along with the surrounding countryside I managed to see.

Was told by some locals to expect four seasons in one day! Even in summer…..

I gather there is a vibrant hifi scene in Helsinki.

I too visited Finland and Estonia a few years ago. Loved both Helsinki and Tallin and found both countries welcoming and friendly.
