For sale is my QED A240CD Super Analogue Integrated Amplifier.
This is a 30W into 8 Ohms, 40W into 4 Ohms integrated British made amp with 3 line level inputs and a very good switchable MM / MC phono stage.
As you can see from the pictures it is in excellent cosmetic condition, with just a couple of very light scratches which are not visible when on a rack.
This amp is the much more sought after Super Analogue version (most aren't) which has the Super Analogue phono board fitted, a fully discrete, multiple stage phono input board, with it's own dedicated power supply regulation circuitry which frees up the on-board pre-amp power supply regulator to act as a dedicated line stage supply.
It's actually a very reasonable phono stage, as good as any sub £200 new phono stage that I have heard and better, to these ears, than my Sony 670ES' phono was.
It is quite well specced with an Alps volume pot and a pretty hefty torroidal transformer (see under the bonnet photo).
The only issue with it operationally is that the switched speaker outputs are down on the right channel.
This amp has 2 sets of speaker outputs, one direct and one switched. The switched outputs allow the speakers to be switched out of the circuit when using headphones, the direct don't.
The amp performs exactly as it should using the direct (non-switched) speaker outputs, the outputs you would usually use anyway as they have the clearest signal path (they don't have the headphone socket / switch in circuit).
The only thing that doesn't work is one channel on the switched speaker outputs, which you would only use when you want to switch the speakers out of the circuit when you plug in headphones.
So, unless you use headphones a lot, the amp functions absolutely normally.
I imagine that the problem is a duff connection / joint somewhere around the actual speaker output terminal and so, would likely be an easy fix if it was important to you.

I am letting this go for £50 + p&p, which is a pretty good price, when you consider that it's worth more than that for the phono stage alone.
