I have for sale these Celestion A2 Floorstanders. 2.5 way ported design with 8 inch drivers and Titanium dome tweeter. Bought new 2001. Perfect working order and perfect cosmetic condition, they have not been moved more than a couple of feet since they were first unboxed. The A series were Celstion's last flagship range before they were bought out circa 2000. Designed and built in the UK, the drivers are Celestions own in house design specifically created for maximum mid-range transparency. The A2 retailed at £1500 back in 1998.

You will need an amp with a stiff power supply (they are sensitive but do demand current) and a room large enough to give them a couple of feet behind them to the back wall. I am practically giving them away at this price. I have the original boxes and the shipping crates if you want them but this is strictly a cash on collection sale. located Stoke on Trent 10 minutes junction 15 and 16 of the M6.

EDIT: I have the grilles, also in perfect condition but no spikes or user manual. I also have the supplied crossover links as these are bi-wireable speakers.

Having owned the Celestion A1s in the past I'd suggest that these are an absolute steal and was it that I was anywhere nearer I'd have snaffled these in an instant!!!
I drove the A1s with 18w of 300 B in PSE configuration with no problems.

Thanks Stu. Hi Fi World tested them with a World Audio Design KEL valve amp with no issues and highly rated them. I used them for a long time with a Linn LK1/LK100 pre power combo again no problem but they will not work with an amp that has a weedy power supply like a lot of budget transistor amps have.

What similar paths we've had. The original amps I used to drive the A1s were a Linn Majik and an LK100 before the lure of 300Bs became too strong. I've tried the A1s with a chip amp too (Sonic Impact Mk 2) and the results weren't great.

They ARE bargains!

Next generation of drivers in the SL6/Sl600 -> SL700 -> Kingston/A100 line

lol

I was sad to see them go actually. I had a couple of reserve buyers lined up but I think if the first one had pulled out I would just have kept them as spares.
