Wilson Benesch arm on Technics 1210

While i am waiting my techie 1210 with rega arm, i decided to sell my previous tt tonearm, a benesch act. Unfortunately it went unsold and wonder if i could store it for a future rega replacement...any idea if it could be accomodated? who could do the armboard properly here in europe? Thanxs

the arm is a 9'' one, is it?
So if have the mounting protractor and enough room to rise & lower the VTA, you can get this blank armboard plate:

but you have to do the hole by yourself. I think you could ask the seller to do that for you, too.
But again, you need the protractor, first.

Actually, all you need is the record spindle to arm bearing distance - the Vinyl Engine database will have that - in fact, I'll look it up now for you.

Meanwhile i was looking in the older posts and get triggered from the Wand tonearm...Sincerely i am intrigued by it and i understood, a armboard for sl1200 exists..maybe took the plunge at that one. The techie sounds very very good already with the 202 rega, i cant imagine how better it will be in future...will think it over. meanwhile thanxs

You could also have Speedy Steve create an ebony armboard for your Technics, which will sound better than a metal one.

for somebody that dont want to take any risk of damaging a sl1200? There are videos in the net, but some of these folks use scaring words about risks in doing it. Is this more a psycho fear than a real thread? The last thing i want is to do is to risk it. Putting upside down like in the videos, will not have oil leaking from spindl, for instance?

I have just done this recently.
The bearing does not hold much oil (if it is a standard bearing) so there is no real risk there,
It's difficult to damage anything, as long as you are careful and take your time. I have done mine just recently.
My top tip is to fit the stylus guard before you do anything else. Take photos as you go along, and you will be fine.

Don't forget to remove the platter and 45rpm adapter before you turn the deck over. ;)

Normally, yes, but specifically with a Techy, replacing any metal armboard for one of Steve's ebony jobs is, sonically, a no-brainer!

l would have thought a WB Tonearm would sound a little better than Rega 202.......;)

I've just googled the tonearm, and I reckon it would look good, and probably sound better than the Rega will on your Techie.
However, we need pictures ;)

The long pillar of wb would have not found enough space. I didnt want to take the risk. Selling it financed my purchase of a jelco, on the way to me. The fact jelco seems to mate well facilitate the decision, thanxs for the help. Cheers
