Hi All,

My name is Edward. I've been learning a whole bunch of stuff off you guys of late. I'm just setting up a system.

So far I have:

Mac mini (digital)
Chinese CD player
PS3 for blu ray and TV recordings
Yamaha Stereo integrated SS

Two weeks ago I got myself a set of Polk A9s. And last week I added a PrimaLuna Dialogue Three pre-amp.

So far I've been running the pre-amp with the Yamaha as a final stage and seems surprisingly ok. I think I will stick to this for now rather than adding any further power amplifiers.

Instead, I'm getting the Bushmaster from Stan. Which should improve things all round.

Next I will need to get some decent analogue RCAs and have contacted Mark Grant, and maybe some speaker spikes/feet.

I'm having fun with it all and the sound so far is way better than I have ever had, so I'm enjoying what I have and learning from you all.

Prima Luna does not seem to get much of a mention.

I listened to to their Dialog Integrated a month or two ago and it was very good indeed.

Thanks for the warm welcome from you and Chris, Steve and Keith. I listen to all kinds of things really. Sometimes the 'metal' type genre, groups like Metallica, Tool, Godsmack and Distrurbed probably my favourite. But I'm also into electronic with groups like Orbital, Chemical Bros, Prodigy, Endorphin, Pendulum and a few others. Then I'm into trance and have a bunch on the computer that I sometimes let roll for hours (or just about days) on end.

A friend once classified himself as a 'mood listener'. And I had to ask him to explain. He indicted he uses music to suit and sometimes alter his mood. And I think I'm kind of the same. Listening to Hayley Westerna right now (vocal almost choir music), yesterday went the CDs of Enya that I have and enjoying them all anew. All over the place!

But in reality each has its own value and takes me someplace different. Enya and Hayley are a bit like going to a place of appreciation of life and seeing the bigger picture from a detached perspective.

Disturbed and the like are for moments of inner angst. They offer some kind of 'therapy' and emotional release.

Trance is all upbeat imagination and dreaming building a better world, sometimes speaking to me of the interconnectivity between things.
