View Full Version : WTD: Speakers upto £1.5k
I'm not really adjusting to downsizing well. So, Looking for some attractive medium sized speakers preferably in a neutral-ish finish ie oak or walnut or I do like the fancier darker woods like ebony and rosewoods. Larger stand mounts or small to medium floorstanders.
Preferably looking to spend around 1k but would spend a bit more for something special (audio note Es????)
not really looking at anything that only comes alive with the wick turned up as most of my listening is done at low to moderate levels.
nothing with a brightly lit balance and my room isn't sympathetic to anything remotely bloomy in the bass.
will be driven by 50w Croft set up.
all offers by PM please :)
Are 1100mm high floorstanders too large for what you are after?
If not what about a pair of my Edingdale speakers? A few AoS members have these and can give you feedback on how they sound
Oak or American Walnut no problem.

These are hand built to order from CNC cut 18mm Baltic Birch Ply.
They just happen to be £1.5K a pair in a veneer of your choice. Above pics are in Oak and Walnut.
Send me a email or PM through the forum if you want to know more or fancy a listen. I'm in Rossendale Lancs.
This picture gives perspective to their size:

+1. The Edingdales are superb.
They look superb but definitely a bit too much visual presence for my living room. Love that walnut finish.
Thanks all for the pms etc, I think I'm sorted now.
Thanks
Not for sale but you are welcome to come and listen to my Revel M105's. I have seen your room and think ? I know your audio poison.
Best speakers I've had including 63's, Guarneri's, 7ES7's and LV Avator's.

It it a secret then?!

Bet you wish you wasn't- anyway enjoy the ProAcs:)
Not at all, it was a great game. As a fan of a more lowly team, you appreciate them playing reasonably against a quality team, even if they lose.
Cheers Andy.

May be selling my EB2's soon as I've just bought some Rega RS5's to try. They are closed boxes so the bass is really tight and not too boomy so very small room / neighbour friendly.
Let me know if you might be interested or want a listen.
