after asking advice from fellow 'Soundies' and being advised to try some Mark Grant interconnects , i contacted him and ordered a 3 metre pair of G1500HD wires to go from my Krell Pre to the Beard Monoblocks . i'm not a great believer in the 'power' of cables, but i have got to admit that these have improved the system by a large margin !! the detail is all still there but the MG cables have taken away the slight 'raggy edge that was there when using the (very inexpensive) IXOS cables . what i like about Mr Grant is that he don't 'take your eyes out' with his prices , so i will be ordering some more interconnects from him and might even try some of his speaker cable (instead of using the flex off the Dyson vacuum cleaner) !!!!!!!!!!!1

I've been using the 1500's for quite a while now. They are superb and Mark is a proper gent to deal with.
Yes - all Mark's cables are excellent - well made, great value for money and perform well above what you'd expect at the price. His service is also second to none. I use his interconnects and mains cables on everything in my system and couldn't be happier.
This is good stuff chaps. :)
I'm considering pulling the trigger on some of Mark's wires - just the basic i/c's - to connect my rig up. For around 50 quid a pop, it must be worth a go.
Another vote of support for Mark G from me. I have several of his products and I have never been even slightly disappointed by either the items or the service. A very helpful and informing responder too to any queries. 6 * from me :) .

Another vote for MG's G1500HD. Over the years these were the first cables I tried where they actually made a difference - those from other manufacturers got sent straight back. The man himself is a delight to deal with.
And I was a real cable sceptic............

I've bought a few cables and other gear off Mark Grant over the years . Just bought a couple of HDMI cables from him the other day . His cables are excellent VFM and service is exemplary . Mark is a total gent . Buy with confidence .

The lovely thing about MG is that you can upgrade as you go along, trading in cables as you move up the hierarchy. I have pretty much wired my system with marks wires.....took a few years but got they're eventually!

glad i joined the site !! i have been wanting some decent cables for a few years , but i don't believe in spending hundreds (or even thousands) of ££s on bits of wire , i have seen speaker cable (nordost i think ) for approx £27.000 for 2x4 metre lengths and if that ain't crazy , then i don't know what is .
i have some old QED 79 strand running from Beard p50 to Castle Harlechs , can anybody suggest some MG wire that will improve for a reasonable amount ???

I run the 6mm blue from Mark, it's monster stuff and I love it.. Looking to get some G2000HD Ag's in the near future too!

I'll second that. The Van Damme is excellent cable. You'll notice improvement over the QED ( good cable for the money) straight away, but let the cables 'bed in' for a few days and you won't have any desire to send them back.

Buy with confidence from Mark. He is a gent and his cable are some of the best VFM out there IMHO.

I have been using Mark Grant cables for a few years now and they are cracking. I use them right throughout. They really do make you think differently about spending silly money on bits of wire. Mark rebuilt my Olsen power block for me too with his power cables and at a fraction of the cost of my old ones which i sold and bought a shit load of records with the proceeds. I have been using the 6 mm Van Damme and it's stupid. When you hear just how good it is it makes you wonder about the industry that has grown around their advocacy. I must admit to being very sceptical about mains cables however.

Well whaddya know - had the Van Damme Blue sat in my little rig for nearly a week now and it's doing Just Fine. Nothing earth-shattering, no 'oh my god just how good is this for the money' sort of stuff, but a very listenable cable which does a great job. It imparts an easy-going listenability to the proceedings, doesn't seem to mask detail, and is not short on life & 'snap' either. I could go on about it further but you know what? It just works, and darn well too.
Less than 50 quid for a pair made of one 5m and one 3m length, very neatly terminated too. Can't argue with that. :)

lol.. bonkers isn't it. I know two people who have replaced much more fancy cables with the VD Blue.
Yep Mark Grant cables are both fairly priced and excellent. Having tried both in my set up, there is simply no comparison with his mains cables and the pricier 'ultimates' offered elsewhere.

Whilst on the subject of VD-Blue, has anyone gone from using the smaller diameter stuff (ie the 2.5mm) to the chunky 6mm? The nice thing is with it being so cheap I'm considering giving it a go just for the hell of it. Only downside is it would appear Mark doesn't stock it.

Mark sells the 6mm... I bought some from him last year. He also does the Shotgun UPOFC stuff which is marvelous too... er.. and I think I 'still' need to send it back to him... oops! - Sorry Mark.. will do.! :)

Has anyone tried his Oyaide FTVS-510 pure silver with the same WBT Silver plugs ? If so what difference did it make?

Yeah, I have directly compared those two cables. To be honest, I wasn't that keen on the Oyaide and although it was very clear, almost spot lit, in the mid and upper frequencies, I thought it a bit muddy in comparison in the lower registers and generally a bit contrived sounding

Had a oyaide/silver wbt co-ax that MG had made...preferred it to the MG trico/wbt. Didnt have a pair to try as ICs. Did have two tricos and used the as ICs but the MG silver wbt that Bev uses shaded them. I have the throughout my system-best I have heard yet.
I have a couple of Marks HD1000 I/Cs and they just work colouration is low to nothing as best I can tell.
I can heartily recommend Marks DSP Mains cables having tried a silver one recently to great effect on my amp and this week explored the gold version for my new DAC. My amp was a bit flat and one channel was going on holiday every so often but Marks DSP 2.5 restored the sound stage and it became effortless.
Early days with the DAC but Inarticulate Speech of the Heart by Van the man sounds more open than it ever has.
Give Marks DSP a go - he offers a return scheme if your not happy and is a decent guy to deal with.
