English Electric P1A prototype at RAF Binbrook around the early eighties. Pentax ME fitted with a Pentax 28mm lens, Kodak Ektachrome 64 and a polariser.

One of my all time fave interceptors and an aircraft which I believe still holds the record for the fastest climb rate of all time IIRC ;)

Yes apparently this aircraft could climb ninety degrees to the Earth and pass the sound barrier on the way up. It could reach 53,000 feet in one minute and could sustain supersonic flight with no reheat. Not bad for a plane designed in 1948. Of course in full reheat it would consume 200 gallons of kerosene per minute. That's my boy...!

Yeah, I reckon the performance would be similar along with the fuel consumption especially the V6 models.
