As the topic says I'm looking for a pair of KEF improved crossovers to replace my original DN12's.

Been looking at the usual retailers but there's several versions of the crossovers which brought confusion to my mind.
My original crossover with original Elcap's has:

1x7UF
2x5UF
1x60UF (should be 30?)
1x80UF (should be 60?)

Thanks

Take a look at the Cambridge R40 crossover. It may offer an improvement (same driver lineup).

I'd expect the DN12 to have well chosen component values, KEF were very careful about their crossover designs. Can't you just update the existing components? If you don't like the PCB, you can bridge wire along the track paths.

Just found you an R40 crossover schematic:

Well, I intended to recap the original but then I saw that this crossover had different MFD values for the same driver lineup/speakers across the years (WTH?), and also, everyone says that the crossover layout is awful regarding the coils and power allowed, so the thought of a PCB upgrade came to my mind.

Best Concertos I heard used LS3/5a crossovers for B110 and T27. Not mine I might add.

I never really got on with the standard Concerto. I stood 15 Ohm Chartwell LS3/5a's on top and compared them. LS3/5a much better in everything except extreme bass.

Hi

Have a look here http://www.falconacoustics.co.uk/crossovers-ls35a-networks-filters-falcon/crossovers-ls35a-networks-filters-falcon.html

Or phone them Jerry Bloomfield is very helpful when it comes to old Kef designs.

Falcon are brilliant, have used them for many years. Malcom Jones sketched out some crossovers for us for EMI 14" x9" (14A 770C), KEF B110, Celestion HF1300 and Coles 4001G.

I did buy their replacement crossover for the Concerto, think it was with the high power inductors for the bass section. Concerto, still did not compare with LS3/5a in terms of mid and treble.

I actually like them very much, only thing that annoys me is that one came with a MK1 T27 and the other with the SP1032. Will have to get one of either! :D

Go for the later one. The recess the dome is in on the earlier version adds slight colouration in the mid treble and dispersion is better on the later one.
