Morning everyone

Due to a living room reorganisation my spendor s9e speakers are up for sale. I have owned them for 5 years (bought new from Robert Ritchie Hi-fi in Montrose) and love them however space has meant that they are no longer going to work for me. I don't have boxes so at present they would need to be pick up or delivery and I'm happy to drive reasonable distance from Cupar in fife. I am though looking into getting boxes from spendor (dealer installed them for me and didn't bring boxes with him which is a nuisance now). Used in a non-smoking and pet free house they have given great service on the end of various naim systems.

I really will miss these however domestic comfort for the family has to take priority unfortunately...

These were £3,300 when I bought them so how about £1,500 now.

These will be a great speaker for anyone who knows the classic Spendor sound - smooth natural and non fatiguing with beautiful mids. Get some power up them and you'll be grinning like a Cheshire cat. A lot of quality speaker at this price.

The E version of the S9 was superb as I recall and FAR more lively if pushed than the S6e and S8e lower down the range. BI-AMP these for amazing results - one client did some previous S9's with big not expensive NAD power amps and these came to life in a very positive way.

By the way, the 'E' version of the 9 better integrated the drivers together (bass was already better controlled) and in the 6e and 8e, the bass was re-tuned a little to tighten it up a bit.

Good price and hope they don't hang around long :) The D7, which replaces these, is the thick end of £4K now.....

Thanks guys- they're going to be difficult to replace. Suspect I'll need to make some compromises on sound quality with what comes next...

Spendor have a new baby due - D1? - to replace the SA1 mk2, which is now being flogged off in readiness. There's always the hugely entertaining Harbeth P3ESR as well, which generally sounds a lot bigger than it is and offers such a sweet and tactile midrange - goes quite loud too and doesn't change its sound until the main driver runs out of travel - they play Massive Attack very well

Cheers- I'll look into them. Trying out some PMCs at the minute and liking them- get a surprising amount of bass and volume given their size.

Not the 20 series with $4 bass-mid drivers?

I've got a pair of FB1i on demo but had planned to hear the 23s- are you not a fan?

Open to sensible offers on the basis that I quite like the demo speakers I have atm.

Running out of time to get them sold- need to let the dealer know on Monday if I'm going to buy the replacements that I have lined up and can only do so if these are moved on...

Right down as low as I can go - £1,000 (so long as delivery is reasonable and not the other end of the country - unless of course you want to meet somewhere) and I need to know quickly so I can secure the replacements that I have lined up. If not i'll happily live with the spendors....

These haven't quite gone away yet...may be able to do something on stage payments if that helps anyone. Get in touch - sure we can come to an arrangement...
