Hi...just want to introduce myself. I am Bill and I have been listening to good music for a long time, probably about 50 years and about 35 as an audiophile. My equiptment consists of a mixture of solid state and tubes (Bedini Amp and Cary Pre-amp) thru Shahinian Obelisk speakers using a modified Philips CD960 player as a source with Kimber silver interconnects and Kimber speaker wire. I listen to all kinds of music except rap and hip-hop with an affinity for jazz and classic rock. I am just starting to get into computer audio and have been reading the forums to get ideas where to start. I have a PC and use iTunes to rip wav files to my 160GB iPod Classic to listen thru an Alpine deck in my car and I want to go further with computer audio. Thanks for listening to me drone on about myself, I'm just glad to have joined this forum and hope to get some good ideas from some knowlegeable folks...Thanks Bill.

Hi Bill, and Welcome to AOS! I'm glad you found us :)

Sounds like you'll have a lot of experience to bring to the table, but likewise, you'll find a lot of friendly and knowledgeable folk here that will be able to give you the benefit of their experience with new-fangled computer audio stuff!

It would be great if you could add your name to you signature, and maybe your location to your profile... it helps everyone remember who you are and where you come from :)

All the best, and enjoy!

I bet it's hot in Florida. How does Top End valve/tube gear fare in such a climate (memories of a mate who lived near Coco Beach for a few years and was sweating as soon as he came out the shower.....)?
