Must admit I like listening to good drum solo's, especially through a good hifi system!

Can you get well recorded drum solo albums ?

A bit left field, it is an album of drum solos but not as we know them, Jim :)

Sheffield Labs Drum record is well worth searching out, especially for Jim Keltner's 7 minute 10s drum solo. A great test of transients and power for any system.

Van Halen - 1984 - Hot for Teacher. Best solo I've heard through my system in long time. Or you could try Dream Theater - A Dramatic Turn of Events, another great album peppered with drum solos.

Big drums are good - they'll test your speakers and amp!

I like Ron Tutt's playing on Roy Orbison's A Black And White Night.

Sometimes you get drum solos on test CDs like Stereophile's test CD.

Then there are all those drum magazines with CDs on the front..
