hi all , i have for sale as listed in the title , a rare 1989 model michel gyrodec bronze full turntable including power supply , perspex plinth and full case , rega rb300 tonearm and a goldring eroica cartridge , it is in good working order and looked after condition , i have the instruction manual and original sales reciept , i am located in devon but may be able to help with transport as i realise this is a fragile item that you would not entrust to a courier , i would like offers in the region of £1250 , i also have a concordant dual mono valve pre-amp and power supply , a faulty lentek amplifier , a pair of castle chester speakers in mahogany with plinths , a sony cdp-557esd cd player , a sony st=s700es tuner , a sony st-k700es cassette deck , a townshend elite rock turntable (for spares or repair due to not being used for 10 years , and a target hammered bronze 5 tier audio stand with glass shelves , i will be pricing the rest of these in the next few weeks unless people want to enquire beforehand , most have manuals some have original purchase reciepts.

Any price idea on the rock?

James can you make it clear which power supply it has (basic/gyropower or newer ?) and if this model has the inverted bearing which I think was introduced about this time.

The rock I would like £250 with Excalibur arm and a power supply it all needs a good clean ,,,,, the gyrodec has the basic power supply , the bearing I have no idea about , if you can tell me how to tell the difference I will have a look.

Picture of the newer and much better inverted bearing. A ball bearing sits on top of the steel column (left) and the brass spindle housing (right) sits on top. Note this will make a significant difference to the decks performance and desirability but can be purchased as an upgrade. As far as motor upgrades for the AC Gyro are concerned the Mitchell QC is unobtainium but I read of someone who got a NOS Gyropower from Mitchell so they may still have some. Otherwise Deco Audio do their own power supply commissioned from Martin Bastin which is claimed to better the QC. All make a significant improvement.

If this is a 1989 vintage Gyrodec then it is most likely the original bearing, unless this has been replaced. Nice looking specimen though.

now i see it , i think it has the earlier one . and i dont think it has been modified , it has been owned from new by the same person until earlier this week ,when i purchased their whole audio collection, it is a thing of beauty, but as tempted as i am to keep it, i have no space and the wife has spoken.
