It took me a couple of days to recover from the Christmas party at my local pub, so tonight I won't be tempted to attend their New Years bash (getting too old to cope with it). This evening I shall just watch a bit of TV and poke about on here (and elsewhere) with a few beers and maybe a brandy or two and enjoy a relaxed New Years Eve. Happy New Year all! Have a good one. :)
Yes, I'll be stopping in also - this is the worst night of the year for the pub as all the idiots who can't handle their ale will be out getting smashed. I will be inside, in the warm, getting nicely toasted. Happy New Year one and all.

Its been a long time since I went out New Years Eve, bit of music, dinner, TV , no doubt in bed before 11 and then wake up to fireworks. hey ho :cheers:

Ditto, although I'll be doing it in the company of with my wife and parents.
Del's making some nice munchies for us to eat, and we'll be toasting in the bells with some vintage champers, whilst watching the mad Scottish comedies on BBC One Scotland (channel 951 on SKY), such as 'Only an Excuse?' Thoroughly recommended, btw! :D
I wouldn't thank you for going near a pub at this time - no fooking chance.... Too full of roasters!!

We were out last year till the early hours and most of is a blur, so, tonight will in front of telly,hifi with ma baffies on and a dram, unless of course some of the neighbours are still up too.

There will be explosions so I have requested that the UN send in a peace keeping force to confiscate munitions from all teenage guerilla groups in our locale... :D
A quiet night in for us too as one of our dogs hates fireworks. Fine food, drink and music are on the menu so we will be entering into the swing of things, albeit in a low key manner. Once hostilities have died down outside we will hit the sack. Here's wishing you all a cracking and prosperous New Year... :cool:

I'll be doing the usual, up at my mum's in the Highlands, out to the pub for a few, then a few folk back to the house, probably till it starts getting light...
Will be staying in watching TV, listening yo music and maybe a bit of Monopoly later...

Lol... 'Taint the case, shweety. Quite simply, we can eat and drink rather better at home, not to mention rather more cheaply!
Factor in the rowdy and braindead idiots who will infest every pub, restaurant and town centre tonight, and staying inside in the warmth and comfort of one's own dwelling, eating, drinking and being merry, is a no-brainer!! :ner:

Only pullin' your leg Marco, we hardly ever go out and will probably be home by 1.00. Sue has volunteered to drive in case my 19 year old daughter can't get a taxi.

Actually I shall be seeing in the New Year by starting with a venison steak, roast potatoes, carrots, savoy cabbage, sugar-snap peas, brocolli and cauliflower. Washed down with a 2009 Chateau le Coin, Bordeaux.
Then a couple of bottles of Marston's 'Pedigree' IPA, whilst watching Jools's 'Hootenanny' on TV. Come the stroke of midnight I shall raise a toast to all my friends with a healthy measure of Laphroaig Quarter Cask.

We'll be retiring at the usual time, it's just another day. The New Year started on Dec 22, after the shortest day. But enjoy youselves if celebrating :cool:

Feeling fine good considering the late/early hour I went to bed, although it was nearly afternoon when I actually got myself vertical. May have a wee drive later with the roof down just to clear the last cobwebs and start the year as I mean to go on.

Had a pleasant dinner out with my partner then saw "the secret life of Walter Mitty" - we both loved it. Maybe being keen amateur photograpers helped us enjoy it's setting but that was one seriously good movie.
