View Full Version : Okay, so here goes my first...
So...
New to this. But, have sometimes read comments from here when deciding what to buy (many thanks).
Have been searching for (sadly budget) upgrades to slowly improve sound from my system.
Mainly Perreaux R200i amp, Quad 11L speakers.
I used to sell Grado headphones on eBay and in New Zealand.
Also made up and sold Van den Hul ICs.
Hi Brett, welcome to AoS
What music do you listen to?
Hope you enjoy the forum.
Hi Brett, hope you enjoy your stay here. Never heard of your amp but definitely impressed with the name.

Howdy and welcome to AoS, jump right in and make yersell at home.
Hi Brett and welcome to AOS.
I've heard and read great things about the Perreaux amps. Post some pictures and impressions when you get the chance.
Happy New Year!
Hey Keith
Great to get some replies.
Music taste? Varies, but am more than not stuck in the 80s.
Especially early Clash, Who, Jam, Cure, Gang of Four, etc...
However, as my system evolves, I get to appreciate music I previously disliked.
For example, my wife like The Eagles. Listening to them on my system, I have new-found respect for what they did!
Hey Brian
I'm not sure yet of the etiquette here.
I'm sure to get the hang of it.
Perreaux is a New Zealand company. Started making good amps back in the late 1970's. Way out the budget of a young guy like me.
In the 80's they began exporting to the States.
The R200i amp I have compares to the Plinius 9200. The only other amp I would have bought. Both retailed for around NZ$9000?
Was my dream amp, and have wishing for one for 10 years. Second hand prices made it possible (with approval).
Thanks Sensei/Dave
My joining date states December. Perhaps I should have waited for Jan 1st?
No, wait. Then it looks like some ill-fated New Years resolution...
Hi Brett and welcome to AoS.

Hi Brett and welcome.
I'm a big fan of The Clash myself. Can you recommend any music from NZ? Was just listening to The Black Seeds the other day and saw Kora at Womad festival a few years ago (the red arrows did a low formation fly by while they played and they tailored their set for effect, was really cool).
Hi Brett and welcome to the forum :)
