I'm wondering what music will be playing in your house at various points of the day tomorrow.....

First drinkie of the day
Sharing gifts
Running down to the corner shop to get the tin-foil that you forgot to buy
Putting the roast in the oven
Peeling the veg
Eating
Falling asleep......all that sort of stuff.

And if anyone says opening the packet of ready prepared veg will be accompanied by Prefab Sprout I'll get very cross!

To answer the OP, it’s what I do every Christmas: start off with

Carols from King’s College, Cambridge, courtesy of ‘Decca, The World of Christmas’

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41G8H9XD7XL.jpg
(Decca Argo SPA/A 104)

then follow it with John Lennon’s – ‘Happy Christmas (War is Over)’, before playing the alternative Christmas song:

Kirsty MacColl with Shane McGowan – ‘A Fairy Tale of New York’.

I don’t bother with Christmas lunch, so for the rest of the morning it was:

Ali Farka Toure with Ry Cooder – 'Talking Timbuktu'

Orchestre Baobab – ‘Made in Dakar’

Le Trio Joubran – ‘As Fâr’

then in the afternoon:

The Dave Brubeck Quartet – ‘Time Out’

and

Kronos Quartet – ‘Kronos Quartet’

Bit late to the party with this one... but for those who like the lady singer-songwriters try these in December 2014!

Tori Amos - Midwinter Graces
Sarah McLachlan - Wintersong

I also rather enjoyed Leona Lewis's new album - Christmas, With Love... :sofa:

Speaking in retrospect i opened my Krimbo presents from my lovely lady which were Fifty Words For Snow by Kate Bush and The Last Ship by Sting, both heavy vinyl. They became my theme for Christmas.
