What's your budget, daftee? I'm asking simply because vintage port is where it's really at, and that starts at around £35 a bottle :)

Not my tipple, but I think you should be looking for at least a Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) circa £15-25. Some good picks at Waitrose if shopping at a supermarket: e.g. Graham's or Taylor's. For a more modern wine, may be Noval Black Port - http://www.novalblack.com/.

Don't forget the cheese etiquette: http://www.cropwellbishopstilton.co.uk/stiltonology/stilton-etiquette.aspx

Yup, LBV is the way to go, if you don't want to fork out for vintage :)

My favourite producer is Warre's: http://www.warre.com/

I had some of this (http://www.vintagewineandport.co.uk/products/Skeffington-Vintage-Port-2011-0) the other night. I'm not a massive fan of Port but Mrs Wazoo is a big lover of the crusty tipple - we both enjoyed this.

Given the weather we've been experiencing recently, I'd welcome any Port in a storm :)

Ha! I was going to offer that the nearest port to Stilton would probably be Felixstowe, but I wouldn't recommend that to anyone.
