Well my present to me was a Graham Slee Reflex M, but it sounds more or less like the V Gold I'm already using. More in depth listening required!

My mum's supposed to be buying me some aftershave, unless she forgets, which is possible.
Hi-fi wise might treat myself to an Oyaide headshell.
Just bought myself an FR arm and a wooden headshell i hoping will turn up from the states soon.

I found a hidden box all wrapped up and carefully opened it while her indoors was out:rolleyes:
Its the Beatles Blue Box from way back....I didn't delve any further,but Im a happy man. Where she found it Ill never know,as she has no ebay account,so only hope its from a good source and not way overpriced...Ill know tomorrow

Got a Sony CDP-XB820 QS semi-highend cd player from local Cash Converters.
It has this interesting DAC with 4 different "Digital Filter Functions": "wide ranging", "clear", "high clarity" and "warm".
This adjusts the DAC sound. The problem is that all settings have a harsh digital sound.
Oh well, can't win every time.

I've put in an LP list with my family and word is one or two of them on there have been purchased :eyebrows:
However, to ensure I end the holidays happy, I bought myself a QED A230S amplifier, T237 tuner and R232 turntable on eBay last week. The seller was a very nice and chatty fella and the box arrived on Saturday with "Merry Christmas!" written on it!
Don't need any system goodies but have loads of vinyl on my santa list!
A new cartridge and a new tonearm.:yay:
Hopefully a new tonearm cable and some music might be on the way before year's end.:christmas:

My dad ended up in a home in Penzance Frank . It was an old hotel looking out to sea with beautiful gardens and with palm trees and peacocks wandering around . Absolutely stunning . Sadly he passed away 4 years ago but I managed to visit him there a couple of times.

It's really good and the screen quality is way better than expected :)

There are a few presents under the tree so will see what tomorrow brings.
I've had them in storage for months, but decided to make it an end of year project to complete my SP10. Pulling out the amazingly capable Ortofon Omega and fitting a Nagaoka MP100 body with the 200 Stylus, plus mounting a Jelco lift/lower device. The stories of fragile boron cantilevers made me want to put hand cueing behind me before I mounted the Nag.
Sitting under the tree also is a nose and ear trimmer.......
Not sexy, but necessary and will be put to good use.
