View Full Version : Looks familiar?
Just seen a picture of the new Keith Monks RCM. Can't help thinking that there's something familiar about it...

Yup, it looks like a highly tricked out Techy that cleans its own records. I could of course be wrong :D?
Cool idea, looks like the tonearm has been adapted to apply the cleaning fluid.

I'm pretty sure that the fluid is applied via a tube attached to the brush - the tonearm has been adapted to remove the fluid.

Nope - the tonearm is the vacuum and spends a week or two tracking from the centre to the edge of the record, but does at least turn itself off when its finished. "Based on a proprietory DJ turntable" - I'm only quoting the company :)
Thanks chaps suppose trying to see photos via my phone wasn't a good idea. :p But yeah, jeez, does it really 'track and suck'?!

The Loricraft one is good, but not cheaper I believe

At last - an appropriate use has been found for those nasty Technics imitators. I approve!

Loricraft have a special price on the PRC3 at the moment, £1199.00 inc VAT, which is less that this new KM effort, for a purpose built unit. The trouble with the new Monks machine, as I understand it is that it rotates a a maximum of around 50 rpm 45 plus a bit for the pitch slider. This means it either takes longer or drys less well, than the PRC3 or the original monks unit.
