As per the title really. Hit eject and the tray slides out only to return back inside the machine. It is an occasional issue but once it starts it continues in this state until the unit is switched off and back on again. It's not a major issue however it will probably just get worse with time so any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated ;)

Does it only happen when you first turn it on? Try leaving it powered up & see if the problem persists. One of my players take a while to warm up to read discs (is flawless after), which I suspect is a capacitor issue.

I have a 717 that does that! ...I have noticed it happens less if a disc is left in the tray. My NAD used to do this as well and it was the small belt for the tray that had stretched. Don't know if this one has a belt as not looked yet but could be the problem also.

Also heard that dirty solonoids can cause it in some machines

I leave it on 24/7 Neil so its not that mate. It is an occasional but irritating issue which mars an otherwise excellent unit.
