Cheers Andy, I'll be at work unfortunately (but not for much longer if things work out). I'll take the 'James Last does Metallica' if I may.

Good Chrimbo piccies Al and thanks for taking them, l struggled to get a half tidy sound before Al came round, and to my ears l have heard this little set up sound quite a bit better in my lounge, l felt yesterday the bass a tad lumpy and treble a tad coarse, l really do not know why,, first off my kit played and sounded pretty good we felt, playing Joan Amourplating, then some Hawkwind (odviously), changing a bit of a kit at a time, at this point l must say Al's JA Turbo for the money is really good and l mean good, smooth, dynamic, a very full sound that was musical plus the added bonus of loads of gain- we likey.

Then we put Al's full blown Techie through its paces, which was if l recall had a MN Bearing MN ETP Platter/Isonoes/ Origin Live arm/ Goldring Eroica cartridge TS PSU, and this sounded very nice, this was my first time hearing a MN Bearing/MN ETP Platter and l have to say l was impressed, straightaway what hit me was a familiar Techie strength that of solidity and sheer unflappability of the sound ( ie always being in control of the groove) but taken up several notches! However after listening to a number of tracks l began to think that his much higher specced Techie was only a little better than my own deck..............

Al left and l disassembled the system ready to go back in my ickle 12' x11' room, once reassembled played some records and this is when it hits you - that Al's deck is good, very, very good, so good luck to him and he is on to a winner with that piece of kit, so l now need to up my Techies game some what, so had better start saving...........

All in all a good day round the Pishanto Palace in which some good tunes were played and, Al falling in love with Hawkwind( rubbish recording not withstanding) and the usual witty banter and steep learning curve.££££££££

I use the brush from a parastat kit.
Usually sell for around a fiver off ebay.

Andy, the brush is from an old Watts record cleaning kit, the bristles are very fine and flexible, the kits sometimes pop up on a certain auction site.
