View Full Version : Worth a punt?
Looking into a decent CD transport to go into my Young Dac, saw this.

What y'all think?
Be better getting an SACD compatible bluray player?
Purely thinking in terms of quality of 1's and 0's to my dac. :)
thanks.

I'm very happy with my Pioneer PD S705 as a transport, the PD 10 looks well specified for the money. I've just bought a Sansui CDD 201 CD Player for my second system, half price @ £99 including postage from Audio Affair, sounds fine but the CD drawer is rather flimsy. I wonder how robust the Pioneer PD 10 mech is?

I'd have bought you could do better for the money secondhand?
Yeah mibbay Ali, good point.
Been looking about, didn't see anything though.
Not sure which bits of kit to look for tbh, but my Google-fu is strong... :)
Still open to suggestions though!
With SACDs at a tenner or so, I reckon it might be a good direction to go to?
That said, always the option of a bluray player (which I dont have) which does SACD too.
Would need to go into the Dac, so analogue output quality not important, just that its a good CD transport!
If it can do SACD and Bluray - a billy bonus.
Watch all the movies through the server mostly, cant remember when I watched a disc, so not a deal breaker.
Any ideas chaps?
thanks.
