Is it just me, or has the world let go of its hold on reality with the cost of living. I was just about to order our Christmas turkey. Long ago, my ex-wife sourced these from a farmers wife (client) who reared a few at home.
More recently I have bought from our local Kelly Bronze franchise. They have been excellent. Year after Year, consistently superb. But I have just gone to order the smallest size, at 5Kg it barely fits in the oven, so goodness only knows what people do with the 8Kg birds. This will be comfortably adequate for 6 (7,8,9) people at Christmas dinner, and still leave sandwiches, curry, bits for the dogs...
But its £70. Seventy english sovs for one roast. And Turkey, not best Scottish beef. Is it just me or is that a bit eye-watering?
