Hello and welcome to AoS.
Yes, as Al points out, we ask that members show their real first name, either in your profile or signature. You can only have a 'special' name in your profile if the real one is in your signature.

Thanks in advance for the changes you will be making!
Cheers

PS - Nice system, by the way!

Very high WAF with all the gear hid inside the cabinet.

Very tidy! what made you decide on the Denon cart for your rega deck?

Yeah my Dad does that but I prefer to have the system out so I can see it :)

Yes me too... but I expect my wife would have it differently!

Welcome to the forum:)

The screen is off centre for practical reasons : the lid of the turntable doesn't get in the way. Besides, we didn't like a too symmetrical alignment.

Excuse me for not mentioning my name earlier - I wasn't acquanted with this forum habit.

The Denon cartridge does its job wonderfully, especially if you take its price into account. I didn't have a good experience with Rega's own Bias 2 (dull and lifeless) and the Ortophone OM5E (a rather metallic sound). The Denon is a moving coil, and put everything in its due place : I especially like the broad stereostage and the naturalness. I'm a jazz and classical music lover, and the Denon brings out every detail I'd like to hear.

I know there are better cartridges around (the Dynavector 10X5 is on my wish list), but I don't play my vinyl records that often, so I'll stick to the 'reasonably prized cartridges'.

Ooo - pretty system.

I agree about not getting things too symmetrical, more relaxed and comfortably casual when it's not. Personally I'd put some sort of wall art on the right of the screen to balance the look. ;)
