I have two of these for sale.
It’s a long story, but briefly, during the summer I got a Garrard 401 and put a 3012 on it. More recently I got a Thorens 124, and planned to put another 3012 on it. I hoped to do comparisons.
But my plans have changed as I now have two other fantastic tonearms, and have decided to go straight to those now, so the 3012’s are surplus.
The first is an earlier one, with separate counterweight system. The second is slightly later, and has the one piece counterweight system.
Have a look at this page for clarification.

I have been using the 2nd version (one piece counterweight) on my Garrard 401. It sounds really nice.
Im sorry, I don’t have a camera to take any pictures. I can link to pictures if needed, but they are not close ups. They are both in fantastic, unblemished condition and Im sure a buyer would be delighted. I could possibly get some close ups, but I don’t have them right now now.
I am asking £600 for the later one ( on the Garrard), and £650 for the earlier one.
I am using a Rega headshell on the Garrard and I would sell including that. Or I have two other headshells to choose from.
I do have original SME headshells, but I would quite like to keep those. However, this needn’t be a deal buster.
If anyone wanted it, I also have the heavier counterweight which allows the use of heavier ( SPU) cartridges. In that case you would probably want the “extra” rider weight, which I also have.
If you just have a normal cartridge, what I am offering (what I am using now) will suffice.
