Best burglar alarm please

What recommendations please ?
Or do I really want one anyway ?

One of our neighbours was broken into 2 days ago.

Local PC visited us a recommended we put in a burglar alarm.
Never been keen on burglar alarms at home, but I'm prepared to look at the idea of one.
I know about the wireless ones and the expensive bells and whistle jobs with annual maintenance and Red Care and the other private company panels

We don't have much worth nicking until you bring in the hifi and for the really discerning burglar lots of old vinyl.
Windows are lockable. Two P Reg Saabs so not ostentatious

There is much choice these days when looking at burglar alarms , it's a tricky One ?

Personally I prefer to use an AK47 assault rifle , instantly does away with any burglar but that's just me.

When they sound off for no reason at all so the neighbours get right pissed off :steam:

Here's one for anyone who's house backs onto fields
