I have for sale a Quad 306 in perfect working condition and very good cosmetic condition.
Recently upgraded the capacitors with Panasonic 6800uf 63v in September so should be
good for another 15 years at least.
Reason for sale is I've just upgraded to a Quad 909 for a little more power.
Welcome to collect (Manchester) or can arrange a courier.

Hi!

It's weird, the amp looks much darker in these photos than in the other set in your eBay auction, despite all were taken in the same environment, it seems...
But it's not a dark grey unit, anyway...?

I don't think I've ever seen any photo of your 306 (despite searching a little, but...) so cannot compare.
Anyway, you may please check the other set of photos here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141124355957 , just to see what I meant.

I'll go for one of these amps one of these days too, but also do want the phono plug version, darkest grey shade. :mental:

I think you are probably worrying over nothing José. From the looks of the ebay photos my guess would be that they are the original photographs and that Lewis has probably tweaked them with a graphics editing suite before posting them on AoS because they are over exposed. Observe the white fabric that the 306 is sitting on. In the ebay photos the extent of the over exposure is such that the crochet'd fabric is bleached out, which would explain the difference in colour.

As far as I am aware the 306 was supplied with phono sockets from the beginning although I stand to be corrected on that ;)

No, I'm not worried at all, that was only a comment because I was in doubt about the shade, but you should be right about over exposure on the eBay photos (which are of a different series anyway).

If I was going to buy this amp I'd do that through this forum, but will wait by now... :rolleyes:

EDIT: As for the 306 input, I've read somewhere that the first series had DIN sockets, also we see very often mentions on most of them as having phono/CINCH/RCA plugs, for some reason I guess...

Hmmm, Roy...

I think you might regret after spraying it red... :eyebrows:
Not to mention it would steal the show in your room.

A bit of sandpaper for even the paint thickness steps at the scrathes, then some Hammerite spray and it will never get rusty again.

Hi!

Hammerite paint is intended for anything made out ou steel/iron, rusty or prone to rust... ;)
It's available in a number of basic gloss and semi-gloss colours, also in black or grey textured (forged looks).

So nothing prevents the use on a Quad cover (and yes, they even do have red :) ).

I also do find the 306 an interesting power amp to experiment with.

Can't find any pickkies but the original Dynavetor '505' was blue Hammertone as was the '3000 Gold' Pre amp... SEE 'Revolver' Turntables were..original Mission '775' Turntable aswell as numerous early Mission speaker baffle boards, original 'Isoplat'...Alchemist early 'Kraken' amplifiers were & on & on...
